The dreaming
2010 - present
2010 - present
The second book The Magic Land deals with dreaming. Which of us are in a dream and which are not? How can we be certain? This narrative takes a headlong dive into a dreaming that represents a different way of looking at the world. The clash of values portrayed through the intense drama of the plot, illustrates the fact that alternate realiteis exist. The Aboriginal community of Kalumburu is the focus of this book through their Spirit guardians the Wanjina. This thread weaves through the three sections of the book propelling the reader towards the gripping climax. There are lessons learned along the way, brought about through loss and grief but in conclusion there is reconciliation, of a kind.
Light and darkness, the constant interplay. One looks out upon the other and where they meet neither holds exclusive sway. Who’s to say if one is right and one is wrong? It depends on which side of the great divide we find ourselves, on which side we consider we belong.
The spirit
The Third book, The Last Firefly deals with spirit. The last flicker of a firefly leads an aging artist to the verge of despair before his world is unexpectedly renewed through the discovery of a long lost feeling for a woman he knew only briefly, forty years before.
